Not true...
The requirements to "see" the event are not the requirements to unlock a 7* ship. There are still scaling ship requirements to get to a 7* Executor. So the OPs comments/concerns are correct and valid. R8s for a 5* ship is ridiculous. There are many, many players that have the ship requirements at lower stars, but will be gated behind the R8 requirements, unable to see/play the event, and will get nothing. Stop defending the insanity.
