I'm sure we'll find a lot of things we like or dislike about the new UI changes. The first thing I've noticed that I dislike is every time any quest updates it pops up and takes up 1/4 of the screen. It's very obtrusive and mostly unhelpful. If it was only when a quest finished that would probably be fine, but every time you use energy covering a large chunk of your screen is both unhelpful and annoying.
Add in as you find new things.
I posted this elsewhere, but will include here as well. Post update, it reset my daily objectives (which i had already completed but did not claim reward for) and was up to free ship and regular energy. Now theres only free ship energy, the regular disappeared. I still have 2 red notifications on home button, but no unclaimed rewards/objectives. Also no way to complete daily objective because I did all the challenges this morning. Crystal rewards seem gone from completing individual daily quests, just credits now. Wasn't a large amount of crystals, but still. Don't love the new quests UI, but may just need time to get used to is. Agree that I don't like having a popup each time i partially fill a quest

Adding, as I just discovered this is going to keep happening...
The popups are ANNOYING. It comes with EVERY TIME YOU SPEND ENERGY! So after every node, I can't even see what I obtained from that node until after the popup goes away. Having a popup just to tell me I spent energy (no **bleep**) and blocking my ability to see what I actually got with that energy is poor UI/UX.
Am I looking at it right that we don’t get crystals from daily’s now? Just 65 crystals from the crate instead of per mission and chance of 10-250 crystals
65 covers what you would usually get from all the components, but minus the chance to get a huge number of crystals some day. That chance was staggeringly low but not zero -- less than 1% -- which meant that in a game with 10s of thousands of players, some folks would get lucky and get it 10 or 12 times in a single year while others would go a whole year without getting it once. This creates the illusion of fairness (everyone gets the same chance) but in practice it creates divides between lucky/normal/unlucky.
Giving out crystals that average in the rare events -- so it's 10/day every day for finishing instead of 5 a day most days, 10/day once a week, 25 a day once per month and a much bigger reward in very rare cases -- is a net benefit to the player. You get what you would have gotten with normal luck, but you don't have to sweat your luck on any given day.
Yeah, those popups are terrible. If you move them to a tiny corner of the screen, an unused bit of real estate, and they stayed a bit longer (giving someone a chance to notice and read them even when they're small and out of the way), then they'd be fine.
The current implementation can die in a fire. Wow is it annoying.
The first mini crate in the Daily Activity Prize Box has an icon for crystals in it but no indication of the odds or potential rewards. That was the one that granted the chance of 5-250 crystals. I completed my challenges and galactic war pre-update so I'll miss out on the chance to double dip on those rewards since you get 4 daily challenges and 2 fleet challenges but only need half of those for the prize box.
And like you have this "permanent?" 2 notification marker in the upper right. No idea how to make that go away.
Pop ups are way too big, they don't even interest me...
But I found why the permanent 2! It's the journey quests. On me was mods to slice. Got rid of one so now only got a 1.
Click on the prize boxes inside the daily prize box, one of them has a crystal. I'm assuming that this is the same as the previous bonus and the 65 is what made up the dailies before
