Fleet Arena idea

I was reading a post about removing crystals from fleet arena, trust me i'm not gonna go into that discussion, when i remembered and idea i had some time ago. Would like to know what you guys are thinking about the following:

Fleet arena becomes an event where you have to signup sort of like conquest. The choice would be signup for pvp or pve. This would be for a to be determined period of time. In pvp, obviously you battle other players fleet once a day (or multiple times a day depending on feedback). if you win you get x amount of currency. Otherwise in pve you fight premade fleets controlled by ai. Similar a win is x amount of currency.

Where would be the difference: pvp would net you 150% (again based on feedback) of said currency where pve would get you less, example win in pve equals 100 currency, pvp would be 150.

Another currency!!!! Hold on, hear me out, this currency would be used in a fleet store where you could buy crystals(potentially losing some when pve), fleet mats, ships shards etc.... Sounds to good (Cg EA frowns).  In essence it would not change for current fleet top 20. They would obviously continue in pvp as they have the better fleets. Fleet  crystal groups would not have to disband. Players close to the top have the possibility to try out against the big dogs or go back to pve to further strengten and try out their fleet. People who have no interest could even try auto against ai...

I realize that this is a huge change and most likely will result in crushed hopes and dreams but i still would like your thoughts, suggestions, .... who knows maybe....
