Its not my logic, it was the unstated reason CG did it. Because before people would focus on just the 1 meta arena squad and ride it for months. Then gac came and you suddenly needed like 10. Even in kyber you only put 3 fleets on defense and need 3 for attack.
The main reason your idea shouldn't be used is because top 50 fleet arena is almost a totally different game then top 500. With some exceptions for really crazy shards. I'm in my shard chat but still sometimes have to climb from the 20s and I do arena battles every day and sometimes get knocked back by outsiders too. Why should someone ranked 500 who's 2 metas behind or doesn't consistently play get the same rewards as me? Thats just as entitled as anyone else.
The same fleet meta has been here for two years, Leviathan, and that is all you need to focus on for this game mode. I have the fleet, no thought required. Win the coin toss and win the battle, lose the coin toss and reinforce with Scimitar then win the battle. I think it is strange that my relic 7 will always win on offense even against someone who has invested in all relic 9. I agree the top 50 is different than the top 500 and you make a good point about inactive players getting the same reward. I had not considered that aspect. I have no issue getting knocked back and you should expect that outside your payout hour. I just do not like that a group of players can active block other players from climbing just to be difficult. I have no issue if someone in the same payout hour bumps me since that is the way it goes. It sounds like a lot of you are in good shards that are generally friendly. Sadly that is not the case in the shard I am in.
