Fleet arena timer

Does anyone else struggle with the fleet arena time limit?

I’ve reached the point that many of my opponents are slightly stronger and require longer battles to chip away at even on 4x speed.
the problem is that the animations take up so much time and the upper level ships get so many reinforcements that by the time my opponent is on their last 1-2 ships the game ends a draw.
