Meh fleet should get the same treatment as arena. Remove the crystals from players hand and give it back to CG. Works pretty good for 99% of the player base

The ONLY players better off with crystals in GAC rather than Arena are the few who are in K1. The rest of us are worse off since the changes
I get way more crystals in GAC than I ever got in Squad arena or Fleet Arena. My daily payout for GAC crushes the the daily 50 to 100 Crystals I got daily in Squad depending on how I climbed each day. And I am nowhere near Kyber. Only people who got hosed are the top 10 or so people in each shard while the other few thousand in the shard started getting an appreciable crystal income from GAC.
And how many of those "few thousand" actually do anything or did anything?
A good shard that is inclusive helps anyone that is capable of reaching the top spots.... If you are floundering around in ship arena not even cracking top 50 then you likely have junk ships and don't deserve anything more than the pity crystals CG already gives you...
I flounder around top 50 and have Profundity. Many of the original shards are highly competitive even now and come with restrictive mafia.

Depends on the activity of the shard. Whenever I push I to top 20, I quickly get chained down.
20 is very different than 50...Have you tried reaching out to them?
Except it's not. Because 21-50 is the exact same payout. And getting pushed out of top 20 by a shard that behaves like that means you might as well be 50th.
I didn't mean in terms of crystal amounts, I meant in terms of how far up a player is capable of climbing.....
Is that relevant? A group of 20 players can game the system to screw the rest of the shard out of 350 crystals per day.
You are being overly dramatic...There is only a small portion of players in any given shard that will either be capable of, or have enough ambition to climb into the top 20....
Again, I don't condone 20 people controlling the payouts at the top and not welcoming everyone that is capable of and willing to get there.... If this is the case in your shard, I would take the initiative to start contacting people you see that are being affected by it and just overthrow them....

Open your own shard chat with others whom are affected and you will see how fast they will realise they made a mistake by trying to shut out others.
Suggesting players break TOS in order to earn fleet rewards is close to being on the same level as telling people to cheat in PvE modes to earn extra rewards.
