GA still defective, and short changing us

Rather than simply preventing a no-defense scenario, they should have made it so that you aren't eligible for any rewards at all if you leave defense slots empty. I have actually wanted to leave slots empty before - sometimes I plant both Revans in a front territory with the assumption that my opponent won't be able to break through, so no reason to set teams behind them - but instead of actually leaving them empty I just fill them with level 1s. That way I get the points for setting a defense, and I'm not screwing my opponent for no reason if he actually does manage to get through. It's not difficult and it costs me nothing.

Based on some forum threads aswell as some discord convos it still happens that players accidentilly don't fill every slot. While i do think they deserve the loss for not paying attention, not getting any rewards at all is a tad too harsch imo.
Also, you can still be a butthole and fill all your slots with your best or your worst teams, which also annoys some players. Just like the autofill for that matter. Basically it's never good enough to please all GA lovers.
Personally i rather face half empty, auto filled, super strong or super weak defs than give up the advantage my roster grands me. So i don't care much for the complaining about players not fully participating in GA, as pointed out, being mismatched is the main reason for not doing so in the most cases. imo it just doesn't feel right to complain about others not wanting to play with you while not wanting to give up the (huge) advantage you have over them, even if you "deserve" said advantage.
