GAC banners

Can any explain how GAC banners is calculated? As you can see my First battle using a full team of 5 clear the opponent zone, based on in game description I should get banners as such: First ba...

Total should be 224, but was awarded 219 instead?

Your math checks out. Sorry, can't help, but wanted to get that out of the way.

Any chance it would have been a team that hits through protection with an AoE?

In game mentioned I got 75 banners when battle ended, I only got 1 toon got hit on his protection, so maybe recovered the protection before the battle ended
