GAC drop K4 to Aurodium 1 in one week

On one hand, making K5 explicitly the bottom 20% of Kyber’s scores (or is it 10%? I forget if the divisions are even) should make the redistribution more easily seen. On the other hand, doing it via scores makes it easier to see how close you are to advancing / regressing.

As I understand it, this is the current scenario.

We start the season off with the right amount of players in A1 (and all divisions). However, as the season goes on more players enter A1. Some of course go down to A2, but none go up to K5 as it's a different league.

Then at the end of the season all those A1 players go up to Kyber. There's now a big hole to fill at the top of Aurodium, so a large plug is opened in Kyber and load of water from the lower end of Kyber washes down the plug hole with a load of players that didn't expect to get relegated/washed away with the dirty water.

Who knows how it is actually designed to work.

I went 6-6 but ended up 5 rating lower... also minus the 46 from the squish, so going for the 'designed' 50% win rate, I ended up 51 rating lower and dropped down from K1 to K2

Sure, "I just got into Kyber 4" sounds a lot more impressive than "my ranking just went up by 1000". But the thing is, people don't complain when they went from A1 to K4, but they do complain for a drop from K5 to A2, and they do that loudly.

That's not true, a while back I did complain that I made a too huge jump. Barely came into Chromium 1, never played in there and got promoted to Aurodium 4. I myself felt it was too big of a jump and didn't like it.

I mean, does it matter? Win more you go up
