Imo it is not a big issue because the likelihood of a player not being registered on gg, but caring enough to go check gg for their opponents history is low.

I'm not trying to discuss whether or not a .gg account is worth having (it is imo), i'm just saying there is no advantage in having an .gg acount when you're facing an opponent who doesn't.
The guarantee having your own account offers to view your def is a fair point, but i do wonder how often i actually face someone who doesn't have a .gg acount. My guess is not very often at all. I reckon my def gets checked by my opponent way more often than i'm facing an opponent without a .gg account. So yea, you're going to have a hard time trying to convince me that having a .gg account benefits me in regards to GAC/this discussion. but like you said, to each their own
What annoys me is that a 3rd party website is displaying information for everyone to see that is not available ingame, but only the information of players signed up to that website. That's just silly. Either display the information of all the players (which i believe was supposed to happen), or of none of the players.
Just to clarify, i do have a .gg account and i'd sign up all over again if i didn't. I just think how ea/cg handled the whole thing is just silly.
