I think the fun factor is very important.
One thing to note; if you're visiting this site, your more invested in the game, compared to the casual player. My guildmates are all roughly between 6 and 8.5 million, and I think only 2 or 3 visit here. It surprises me how much out of the loop most of them are on counters and such.
Anyway I digress....... My point is that all of us here probably do better than the average player. So our views probably don't represent the average player a lot of the times.
I've been playing Grand Arena since its launch. When it was launched I was extremely casual and pretty clueless, even though I'd been playing for a couple of years (maybe). At some point I became dedicated. Under the old system I went from a 4/8 player to a 10/2 player.
I'll admit that as the player I was at the end of the GP system, was as much fun if not more fun for me compared to now.................playing GAC. However, watching my GP and only working on characters 'on the path', not levelling leadership abilities I may not use, not activating new characters etc etc is (for me extremely unfun in a gacha game).
Going back to any GP match making in GAC (especially with the rewards in GAC now) would 100% affect the rest of your SWGOH. I really don't want that, and having experienced it, I don't think it's remotely a good idea.
Also, we need to think about the old 4/8 harvestmouse. GAC really wasn't fun for him, it was a real chore. Players like that and those with even worse win records would suffer and find it less fun than you guys are currently.
I'll say it again. Active vs inactive matches are far from balanced and need to be dealt with. Active vs active are fair, no matter what the GP. These are the players that need protecting and do not have a voice on the forums.
