I defeated them but it was odd that every attempt failed. FYI, avoid AOEs to win.

never mind, apparently the deathmark prevents revives. lame interaction for the event. You can get the inchor's but only if not deathmarked when killed since you cannot rez anyone killed while deathmarked.
