Galactic Legends - Mastery

Just read https://forums.galaxy-of-heroes.starwars.ea.com/discussion/224131/galactic-legends-mastery#latest

This might be some of the scariest info on this game ever!

If I read this correctly, then the Mastery stat modifications are so big, that they can cancel a stat 100%! That is insane! :o

The Mastery Stat seems to work something like this. Example: Let's take an Agility Attacker with 100% CD and apply a Mastery stat = M= 0,5:
Effect = E = (M * CD) + CD = (0,5 * 100%) + 100% = 150% CD.
That seems plausible. Good, but within reason

But if an effect can lower the health of a character though the Mastery Stat, then it's value must be negative.

E = (-0,5 * 100%) + 100% = 50% CD
That also seem plausible in this example, but consider what they say about the heath:

For example, although health is on this list and can be negatively manipulated through Mastery, this manipulation can’t directly defeat a character by reducing their health below 1.

E = (-1 * ) + = 0 health (which is then "only" lowered to 1 health, yay...).

Tell me I'm wrong. Or at least tell me the Mastery Stat changes only happen slowly over many, many turns.

(The stat and it's effect can be calculated in a number of ways, but I believe it all ends up being the same - madness!) ;)

    That’s why also you can’t have both new Rey and Kylo in the same squad, it would be too OP

    Excellent speculation, that seems like an obvious choice.

    As far as the actual mechanic, I could see some like "Enemies get -25 mastery. This can't lower mastery to less than zero." So R5 and less enemies would become effectively G13 and R7 would become R4. That would at least preserve the investment in R7 a bit.

    We know they can reduce mastery below zero. That's why they threw in the comment about not being able to reduce health below 1.

    They probably said that because Relic'd B1 has 1 health.

    I'd be surprised if they allow mastery reduction to allow negative (below zero) multipliers, too many possible unintended interactions. Dropping it to zero simply makes a toon G13 -- a known and predictable result that makes future ability crafting less complicated in regards to interacting with this new ability.

    I suppose, but this is the quote:

    "For example, although health is on this list and can be negatively manipulated through Mastery, this manipulation can’t directly defeat a character by reducing their health below 1."

    That seems more general to me than just referring to B1. It's possible they're just covering all their bases at this point, but your stance would also indicate that this mastery manipulation is useless against R0 (G13) characters and below, which seems unlikely. They even note that non-relic'd characters have a mastery stat of 0. They wouldn't need a mastery stat at all unless it could be modified.

    This is what I’m expecting too. Basically Rey will be dominate in raids beside I’m sure raid bosses may be immune to this trickery. Only assumptions though at this point
