So devs, you are welcome. One of the empty tables in the cantina should be for the local loan shark.

So you need 1615 to buy that mk5 furnace, but you only have 1000? Go talk to the loan shark. (He should obviously be the blue alien with the wings and the big schnauz.)

He will loan you crystals in exchange for colateral. You put up a toon, and he gives you the rocks.

100 crystals for a 4 star toon.
200 crystals for a 5 star toon.
400 for a 6 star
800 for a 7 star.

Of course the only catch is you lose that toon until you pay him back principal plus the juice.

They need to make an exclusive character you have to fight everyday you don't pay it back.

Maybe your hocked toons can be frozen in carbonite. And maybe instead of a weekly vig, it could be a flat 20 percent. But your toon loses one piece of gear a week while he is in hock. If no gear left, he goes after the kneecaps. One star per week! When he gets down to zero, the toon deactivates.

It's a good idea in theory, but in practice it would be greatly abused. Aside from a couple of my "main" characters (and pilots), I'd trade most of my roster for crystals immediately. What's the reason for having a Mob Enforcer or a Jedi Guardian? They'd be much more useful as a source of crystals.
