Gear crunch just got worse?

Just as a reminder - this RA post is not even one week old… Shard Shop is one of the few places where we can get g12/g12+ gear without spending energy or crystals, and more importantly it’s a place where we can invest our resources into exact amount of gear that we currently need the most. Redirecting shard shop currency to Datacrones can have huge impact on “existing resource management” and by no means is “parallel to the current set of progression systems”.

You'd think since we are beta testing this, the free gift they gave us would let us at least level it up to maybe 3 or 4. But nope.

I think we still have to see how many of these materials we'll get "for free" in conquest (without spending more on refreshes than we already do), and maybe also TW. The devs stated that those were supposed to be the main sources for these materials, so for the time being I am not spending SSC or crystals on these myself.
I could obviously spend to get an edge in GAC and TW, but I don't think I'll be doing this, personally.

Why would anyone waste shard shop currency on datacrons anyways?

Now the change to Proving Grounds got worse too, those with a 7* CAT and RC could use the extra shard shop currency now, in the long run that extra currency would add up
