Geared Magma Trooper Viable?

Does anyone have a geared Magma trooper? I have lvl 70, 7 star, gear 8, but from there to gear 10 and 80 he will gain over 1,000 physical damage. Right now he hits about the same as Baris which is ...

Does anybody knows if he really has 87% potency at gear X? Because I can't find the gear which gives that 80% extra potency...
