Some have said that CG only wants to introduce characters they can sell to them whales, as an argument for a General Skywalker. However, I don’t remember any real selling characters just before the Geonosis DSTB. They just reworked the Seperatists. The way they did the second Grievous rework.
I do think a new character is coming they can sell. I just think that will be the new Rey from TROS. I don’t see that being a second Hero’s Journey of Rey, where she has a Jedi tag. It will more likely be a Malak-style special event that requires very high gear Resistance and First Order characters.
