I see both sides of the argument here.
On one hand, I find things like TB, Conquest, GAC, Raids, Fleet Arena climb in a very busy Fleet shard, all take up a lot of my spare time, so I am not really keen on anything that would add any significant play time to what is an already lengthy list. The one week in the month where TB coincides with Conquest, for instance, sees me spending well over an hour playing the game each day.
On the other hand, I would have no objections whatsoever if CG decided to reintroduce the Galactic Challenges without removing the new Era / Coliseum system. I rarely found them a chore, and they were often a very handy mechanism for completing Episode / Character Quests. If a similar game mode was introduced that allowed truly optional game play opportunities then that is fine by me. If it offered rewards I don't need, like Credits, that's also fine.
I would like the devs to do something about TB screentime, especially for "end-game" guilds / players. There are several missions I run in TB where I think it is actually impossible to do anything but complete with 2/2 waves (1/1 for Fleet). Has my Jabba ever failed to get 2/2? Not in any of the mixed planets. Has my GLAT ever failed to 2/2 the top CM in Vandor? Nope - but it ties up my phone for 15 minutes or more every fortnight when I run the mission. A sim option for at least some of the TB missions would be a game-changing QOL improvement.
