I just can't see continuing to play this game if pvp stops being an enjoyable experience. I've played for 10 years, and since gac released it's been my reason for playing. As you said, I collect rewards to improve my roster, to perform better in pvp. I see the other game modes as vehicles to obtain rewards for that purpose. If pvp remains in the state it's currently in, even without the lag, I no longer see a purpose in playing. It'd be collecting rewards to improve my roster for no reason. In which case, I'd rather just do something else. Play a different game. It's really unfortunate and has been making me sad all day. I was having fun until the updates dropped, which is saying something after 10 years of largely doing the same things every day. They were in a pretty good spot by my view before these updates hit. As it stands now, I feel like the part of the game I cared about is dead.
To me, it still has some value playing the non-PvP content, so I'll stick around. For now, however, the PvP modes aren't even worth engaging in, so I'm just skipping it. Been doing that for almost two days now, and I'm sad to say, I actually enjoy the game a lot more when not playing these modes. The frustration is gone, and I can save both time and money, as PvP, for me at least, is completely broken and therefore not really a part of the game anymore.
I'll hold off on judging it completely since it's early days after the update, but if nothing changes, this is how the state of the game will be for me. And I'm fine with it, PvP is a closed section of the game, where it only really feeds into itself.
Farming and gearing still holds value, since the PvE modes are still fun and engaging.
