Google Play Card Question

Does anyone know if you can use Google play store cards to make in game purchases?

A friend has some he has never used, and now can't use as he switched to the new iPhone. I told him that I might take them, but since this game is likely the only thing I'd spend money on, I don't want to take them and then have the credit sitting there going to waste. I've tried googling it, but can't find a definitive answer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    For google play cards to be added to the account you go to the play store then where the search bar is there are the 3 lines and click on those and should be a redeem section then you type in the card code. then the funds are added.

    Yes, I've spent around $100 using Google Play cards. It will also prioritize the gift card over the credit card if you have one tied within your account.
