Grand Arena: no
As I, and no doubt countless other people mentioned weeks ago, basing matches on GP is a set-up for failure. I have an opponent now, I have the same teams, but one 'small' problem: all his/her team...

So you want to be only matched against people you'll beat? Gotcha
I realise that you'll have a long complex answer as to why you think you've not said that, but that's how your complaint reads.
You obviously read wrong. He stated he was up against people with teams 10k power higher than his own teams. The point of this mode is for you be matched up against people with a similarly developed roster to see who wins. There is not point (or fun) if you're matched up against someone you easily crush or someone who easily crushes you.
When will people learn that GP is nearly irrelevant? I beat teams 10k higher GP every day in arena because my mods are better. In GA I used 50k teams to knock down 70k teams because those 70k teams had one and two-dot mods on characters and max speeds in the 130s. My 267 speed GMY and my 286 speed Hoda can wipe a 90k GP team by themselves if that team's max speed is 130. My opponent in GA had 8 mods of 10+ speed and 1 mod of 15+ speed secondary, no 6-dot mods, and no 20+ speed mods. Yeah, he's going to get his tail kicked nearly every time until he decides to focus on better mods.
The problem isn't GA or the matchmaking. It's that people don't know how to play the game, lose to people who do know how to play the game, and then blame the developers.
