It has come to my attention that the Developers' spokepeople on the official forums are condoning Guild hopping to allow for players to join more Raids. This activity is an exploit because it can give players an unfair advantage over others and therefore must be stopped. Specifically, there are no restrictions on a player making as many alternative (alt) accounts as he likes to simply generate Guild Bank Coins to start Raids. A player in a typical Guild now can earn enough Coins to start a Heroic Raid every other day. But a player exploiting alts, could generate enough Coins over multiple Guilds to allow him to switch to a new Guild every day and do up to 3 Raids there. From the Raid rewards (character shards, gear, and credits), which are the most desirable and exclusive in the game, he would then gain almost a six times advantage over a typical player.
This exploit is bad for a paying customer like myself who prefers not to dedicate extra time to running more accounts and it is bad for the Developers because the exploit generates extra ingame currency without paying for it. So unless remedied, I foresee this exploit causing the downfall of the game. As a customer, I need to know what the resolution will be before I can justify spending more.
A solution could be: remove all restrictions on switching Guilds, remove all Coin requirements to start Raids, and simply put all Guilds on the same Raid Schedule (eg. every other day at 0000 GMT.) Guild Leaders would choose which Tier of Raid to participate in. Then make it so players' Raid Rewards are based on the outcome of the Raid in the Guild they were in when the Raid started.
Please seriously consider the impact of this situation on the game economy. I have seen other games destroyed by simular circumstances and don't want to see that here because I enjoy playing Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes.
