Guild messages
Our guild has a few problems with newer players who either can't see the banner at the top of the chat or don't know about the chat function. Please can guild leaders and officers send guild messages ...

Don't know about it? How do you know they simply don't know about it?
Are you sure they are not minor accounts? Minor accounts don't see guild chat, banner texts or direct messages in-game.
My guild leader only allows in people who have non-minor accounts. (S)he invites people (s)he knows through some form (either real life / other games / this game). Those who might be from other games may not completely know this game.
I'm surprised there's controversy about messages from a guild leader / officer to guildmates through inbox.
So, your guild leader has ways to communicate with those members outside of swgoh. Couldn't (s)he just tell them about the guild chat and banners?
