i'd love it if they made GvG happen.
Guilds falling apart and member poaching is an acceptable consequence imo.
The only problem I can see is that if done wrong, and maybe even if done right.
Raids rip guilds apart and then they get easy and people leave, so there is an ebb and flow.
GvG would have no ebb, especially if done wrong, i.e. rewards are too great, or there is a tournament style aspect to it, meaning there is never a benefit for a player to leave a guild. (Raids there may not be a benefit to leave, but there is also no loss as long as the raid is completed)
It is what it is and I look forward to playing this game for a long time, just hope there are people to play against in the end."Kyno;c-1052749" wrote:

I guess it largely depends on the matchmaking, wich will most certainly not be without flaws. A relatively small difference in rewards between the winning and losing guild should make the flaws acceptable.
As always it will rain complaints, but i'm betting that the overal swgoh experience will be better with GvG than without. (just like every other major update)- They could do it like clash of clans. Everyone has 2-5 attacks. 5* for no characters lost down to 1* if you only have 1 character left and obviously 0 stars for a fail. Most stars wins.
As for poaching, it happens anyway and some people stay in a guild not just for guild success but some like finishing 1st in a h pit raid in a small guild than they would finish 20th in a larger one. When you lose a big hitter it just means everyone else moves up in reward rank so it's not a big deal.
I think it's exactly what the game needs. A group competitive edge. - @JacenRoe posted something about this a couple of weeks ago. If it's true and GvG is the new game mode coming, we should use the forum to make it better. I am in total aggreance that GvG should be where CG takes an opportunity to strengthen guilds. Let us know how guilds will be matched and how the rewards will be distributed throughout winners and losers of the guild war. I am in favor of equal rewards throughout the guild if that guild won. With equal rewards distruneted with less rewards to the losing guild.

It is a tough one really, Guild vs guild has been called out for nearly a year, almost all the bigger guilds will likely pair together their strongest players, this will end up leaving a lot of very good players frustrated with being dunked in the 2nd tier guild (or in some cases, 20th tier!), people will then leave those guilds as well, lots of new guilds will form, be kinda chaotic.
Not if it's done right. If there aren't huge differences between prizes for the winning and losing guild and the matchmaking/tiers are done correctly, it could be set up in such a way that it wouldn't "force" people to migrate guilds.
Hopefully, there have been some lessons learned from the AAT (and what that did to guilds) and tournaments (and what that did to player dissatisfaction). If not, than sure, it will be chaos, the forums will burn, guilds will be ripped apart, some people will threaten to quit, dogs and cats will be living together - mass hysteria. Then, after a few weeks, we'll all still be playing. Because Star Wars."Nikoms565;c-1052843" wrote:

Hopefully they fixed the hacking problem that eventually ruined tournaments. If it is present in GvG, expect a meltdown. Fingers crossed though that a better system is in place to prevent that as much as possible."Nikoms565;c-1052843" wrote:

There is absolutely no reason this has to rip guilds apart. A good matchmaking formula will pit guilds of roughly equal power against eachother. Guilds consolidating will just cause them to get paired against other whale heavy guilds. There are so many ways for GvG to go right or wrong, but this is one that should be easy to get right.
Total roster power of all guild members would be a good number to use to pair up guilds. Make it so that when you start a GvG you will randomly get paired with another guild of similar power within a certain margin."JacenRoe;c-1052868" wrote:

I can see them using mmr for guild matchups, which I think long-term is the best thing to do. Obviously though, mmr will create some major mismatches early on, since everybody will 1)start with the same baseline mmr and 2)have a very high confidence interval until several matches are played.- And everybody should expect some volatility in guilds whenever something like this or raids are introduced. It happens in every game, and as we have seen in the past swgoh is not immune.
