Health bar bug?

Hey guys! I've been reading the forums for some time now but I'd never written anything. Sorry to arrive here with a negative post haha.
I noticed something awkward with the new health bars, but I can't really check it out right now since I ran out of energy lol, so please people, tell me if I'm tripping!
I'll try to sum it up: like we all know, new health bars show a lot less bars than before. Even though I don't like it, I thought the consensus was that now each bar represents pretty much 2000 health. This is correct, right?

The strange thing happens when I kill pve enemies who have more than 1 but less than 2 health bars remaining - which means around 3 or 3.5k health, right? - with an attack that hits for 1.5 or 2k.

Can someone explain to me why does this happen? The first attacks in the same enemies (who don't have Protection, btw) follow the "rule" I mentioned (2k hit takes out a full bar).
I'm curious and I wanted to know if anybody else is experiencing it.

  • The current healthbars are really hard to read. Sometimes I think I should kill and don't and vice versa. Not sure why they had to change that aspect of it. What was the benefit?

    Originally, I thought the new visual was an overlapping shield, and that would've made sense, but that's obviously not the case. I don't really like it.

    Same, I thought we'd get a second layer over the heal bar that would go down. I still think that would look better and be easier to read.
