Help me understand why Darth Vader goes first

I just unlocked my first GL, JML, and have been testing him out in arena. My JML has 555 speed. I just played twice against a Lord Vader team and their Darth Vader (speed 250) went first both times. Their LV has speed 541. I know Darth Vader gets +8 speed for every empire/sith ally and Jedi/rebel enemy, but even if they had a full empire/sith team and I had a full Jedi/rebel team (which we don’t) his DV would be at 410 speed.

I re-read through LV’s and their teams kits, but didn’t see anything to explain this. I’m sure I’m just missing something and was hoping someone could point it out to me.
