@tolwaja Hello there,
It sounds like you are inflicting Captive on an enemy using Hondo's first special, "I Don't Want to Kill You Per Se", and killing them before Hondo has ten stacks of Ransom.
Hondo's unique "That's Just Good Business" states:
"If a Captive enemy is defeated and Hondo does not have at least 10 stacks of Ransom, Hondo escapes from battle".
Easy to do if using strong characters or playing on Auto.
