How would you handle this GW team?

Hit a hard node 12 today, haven't tried it yet because I'm at work. Here's the team:
Wedge (leader) G11, speed 140
Biggs G11
ST Han G11, speed 198
Anakin G11
Baze G11, but "only" 6*

This is my first time going up against Baze. Should I burn him down first? Or should I hit him until his taunt ends (speed 99) and then switch to Wedge?

I've got droids with tstored TM and nearly full protection, a used-up Rebel team (no Wedge, Ackbar led), a mish-mash team of former Arena castoffs that's actually pretty good (Luminara, Rey, QGJ, Daka, RG). All of these have stored TM.

I've got a fairly deep bench of f2p characters, too. Any insight you can give is much appreciated!
  • Hm. Does sacrificing my turn meter edge make up for eating one taunt?

Also, since I've never fought Baze let alone Baze and Han at once, does Han's AI use his taunt if someone else has already taunted?
  • first time baze? That suprizes me tbh.
st han taunts regardless of other taunts being up (atleast he normally does, GW can be wonky)
I hate facing teams like that in early nodes because it's hard to prevent the biggs assist kill. With a deep bench on node 12 it doesnt really matter. I'd probably take out baze right from the start and see how for i'd get killing the rest with my first team. 2nd team should easily take out the remaining enemies regardless of TM advantage.
  • I'm only top 100 on my Arena board. My understanding is that your GW opponents are roughly the same placing as you are, so I tend to get pretty reasonable node 12s, and tend to avoid Baze and other premium characters because those teams are si far above mine.

If you have Ventress use her on nodes 1-3. Get her turn meter to 100% or as close as possible then bench her until you get a Baze or Shoretrooper at the last nodes. Use her dispel to remove taunt then burn down Wedge first. Like others have said you can use a garbage team to blow your opponents taunt and assists.

Either way as long as you can finish GWs daily it is a good thing.

Good luck hope that tip helps.

That's really good advice--I used to do a similar thing to create a garbage 4th team that I could sacrifice in a real pinch (Phasma, Vader, Sidious, Han, Mace for taunt-breaking) but stopped using it once my Rebels hit a gear level where they became viable.

Looks like it's time to start farming Ventress! Thanks.

You've got droids, QGJ, RG, Lumi, Daka ... You need to dispel Baze immediately, so if QGJ is TM-loaded and his dispel is ready, he's a good option. Next problem is to stop St Han taunt. RG or Daka could stun him, or Lumi could block him. Next problem is the attackers. You need to do some damage, and quickly. Droids seem like a good solution here; HK ability block would be useful too. With all that in mind:

HK (L), 88, 86, QGJ, RG. I would try that to start. Take out Wedge first, then maybe Anakin or Biggs, depending on where your blocks land. If you can get a block on Anakin to stop his AOE, I might go after Biggs first.

Han has AI? All tanks will taunt even if there are already 4 other thanks taunting.

Notably the stormtroopers in LS/DS battles who all taunt at the same time lol
  • Got it! It was surprisingly easy after a few false starts, an RNG quirk, and some luck on my side.

I started with my droids and had real bad luck, so I retreated and put my mish-mash in and only did a little bit better, so I retreated again and switched back to droids and tried something different. I single-targeted Baze until B2's turn and used his AoE cleanse. It missed Baze, crit against Biggs, and failed to Buff Immunity Han, so they murdered me pretty badly as a result and I retreated.

Now, it's a little-known quirk that autobattle has a separate RNG seed. So on the next try I single-targeted again and then, once B2 came up, I auto-battled and got a lucky break--hit Baze, didn't crit Biggs, and Buff Immunity on Han. Then I burnt down Wedge, using AoE only when Biggs' TM was close enough to full that it wouldn't matter. I was able to burn down Baze next, then get Anakin down to about 3/4 health before my droid team was defeated.

The mis-mash team was able to clean up just fine.

Baze is a real game-changer. I wish I had bothered to get him!
