If Asaj is Dooku's apprentice why she isn't a sith?

So Asaj who is one of the best fighters was trained by sith lord who also trained Maul and Savage who are the same race as her. She used two light sabers and the force but she is not sith? What training did Dooku gave her? Makes no sense.
