Did you even watch Kenobi? She never had Vader fooled. He basically said as much when she tried to betray him.

And he hasn't said anything racist, you inferred it. Even assuming he is referring to Reva, he is clearly talking about the character in the game, not the actress in a TV show.

When was the last time you used IPD? I'll take a shot at any improvement to the incredibly expensive to gear Inquis team, even if racists want to try and attack the actress or writing behind Reva.

You know, not every post is or needs to be an exercise in logic. It's not "logic" when I decide that the toddler is more likely to have made a particular mess than the dog. I'm combining a large number of observations and making a reasonable guess as to what's most likely. It's actually a task that the human brain is quite good at

No one knows for sure what the OP is talking about, but Reva is a reasonable guess.

No one knows for sure what would make the character discussed so terrible in in the OPs eyes, but **IF** the character is Reva, then racism is a reasonable guess.

It's not a syllogism. It's not meant to be. Instead it's recognizing that while many people had valid criticisms of the way the Reva character was handled (I was one, I thought she was way too over-the-top insubordinate in the first couple episodes), the people that expressed visceral loathing of her overlapped to a large extent with the people making racist arguments about why she was bad.

If you interpret the OP as talking about Reva **and** if you interpret the OP to be expressing such visceral loathing, then guessing racism is at play is a reasonable combination of observation, background knowledge of human psychology and society, and inference.

Disagree as you wish, but the fact that this isn't "logical" isn't a problem in the slightest. Lots of things in this world aren't logical, from my choice of breakfast to how people vote.

Making the reasonable guess that racism is somehow at play here is just one more of those things.

You have assumed an awful lot from a post that said very little. OP said CG is telling guilds who to farm. That could be Reva, but it could also be Bodhi Rook or Hondo. Unless the OP actually comes back to this thread and tells us what they were talking about, everything you say is 100% assumption with no basis in fact of any kind.

So people aren't "JUST" not thinking the OP is racist. They're also asserting that they know the OP is not racist.

And yet this claim to certainty is ridiculous. **IF** the OP is discussing Reva and **IF** the hatred for the character came in whole or in part from racism, **THEN** the statement would indeed be racist.

I have a whole lot more respect for Wookie Wookie than for Boba Fettish here.

Wookie makes it clear that they don't think they know for certain what's in the OP's heart, but that they know for certain racism exists and has affected how people view the character which makes racism on the part of the OP a reasonable guess.

Now, the OP could come in here and clarify things and then we would have much better information to confirm or reject this guess, but we don't have that. We just have a reasonable guess which Wookie never claims is anything other than a reasonable guess.

Then we have Boba Fettish who is absolutely certain that the OP "hasn't said anything racist".

I've been in a guild with Boba (hi, Boba!) and I don't have anything against them, but I do think it's weird that one person says that there's a possibility of racism here and that they think it's the most reasonable guess and the conversation turns rapidly against them, with much of that conversation asserting that we can't really KNOW it's racism.

But when someone else violates the community norm EVEN MORE BIGLY by proposing not just a reasonable guess, but certainty, no one jumps down Boba's throat about it. (Please don't jump down Boba's throat about this or anything else.)

It is terrible but true that racism exists within the SW fandom.

But reflexive defensiveness -- assuming that there's no racism until we telepathically prove we know exactly what someone is thinking -- isn't going to help anything here.

The best possible outcome would be for the OP to clarify and for this all to turn out to be a great storm signifying nothing.

But even if that never happens, we can still become better people by thinking about this stuff and taking it seriously instead of having one standard of evidence for people who (reasonably!) guess that racism might be at play while having a completely different standard of evidence for people who say that racism is impossible here.

If we go that route, we won't ever make progress on this issue and on quite a number of other serious issues besides.

There are plenty of reasons for anyone to not like a character and without knowing all the info they would all be “reasonable” to assume. That’s all they are though is assumptions. Why jump to racism at all? Just because it exists? The length of this discussion over what amounts to nothing is ridiculous.

Hey folks, this thread got quite off track and is being locked here as the discussion it's moved to is not appropriate for these boards.

If you believe someone to be making racist or inappropriate comments, please report the post rather than derailing the thread to call someone out based on assumptions.

Wait, farm for 2 years? Or that we have. had sitting around not caring about for 2+years.

Because Bodhi Rook is by far the worst toon ever to hit the game. Even with his rework (whenever that was, I don't remember) couldn't save him.
