Is Fives supposed to counter a counter?

I just played a match where I had my B2 and SF against a Fives and Aayla

It somehow seemed like there was some endless loop of Aayla calling assists which I didn't quite follow but then I know I saw Fives hit SF twice on a counter attack, then attack two more times for his attack, then SF countered then Fives countered the counter. Are theoretical endless counter loops WAI?

Fives omega' primary doubles up if opponent has speed down. Sounds like that might be it.

That's not it... I said he hit twice for a counter (because of Omega), then twice for his turn (again because of Omega), then SF countered him for his turn, it should have been Faqs turn but instead he countered the counter....

I've seen similar things happen. No point worrying though as it won't get fixed.

Or you could read the real reason...

Ooohwee. Are you sure that Fac actually countered? Sounds like he may not have countered and just took his turn instead.

Or was his 5's just that much faster than your Fac? Say his 5's was at 99% tm when your Fac went first. Fac goes, 5's counters. 5's goes, fac counters. 5's goes again due to his speed.

It would be easier to diagnose what happened if a video was available.

Yeah his fives is faster but I still think it should have been faq's turn; I wish I had a video but it did say "counter" and it wasn't on auto so I know for sure faq countered... (Thank u for showing a capacity to read)
  • All I know is at time 5's takes a crazy amount of turns in a row but it's probably WAI. Especially with those who call for assits it is very easy to see 5's go 6:7 consecutive attacks or even 8:10.

    Counter-counter-turn-turn-ally-assist assist.

    Or

    Counter-counter-turn-turn-ally-assist assist-enemy-counter- counter.
  • Great question. Theoretically if a Fives was attacking an enemy Fives it seems that you could have endless counters until one is killed ... though realistically, since the counter is 85%, at some point the rng would have one Fives not counter ...

Counter attacks don't proc on counters
  • Aayla throws a whole other possibility in the mix. There r threads about her counters and assists behaving strangely. Known bug.
