With the power creep in the game, there's now far too many teams that take damage slowly, and lead to frustrating time-outs. At this point,it doesn't seem logical that it's still capped at five minutes considering how many long animations the game has now. It's archaic, and should probably be left in the past. Or maybe fix animations so that they look most normal in 1x
8x would be nice. Or an option to disable the painfully long animations like GL ults. Hondo's is so pointlessly extended. Pretentious pirate.
If you are timing out, you should try using a different counter.
The timer should remain but be increased to 7.5 or 8 minutes.
A timer is required to avoid abuse cases.
However, kits are way more complicated and animations much longer since the 5 minutes was chosen.
In reality, nothing will change. Part of the point of relic delta was to make Defense more viable.

I've been out of the game the last month. I did feel that GL Hondo was a time sink, but I hadn't considered any other team before him to be the case. I wonder if it is/was a matter of time for players to get their head around GL Hondo. The other factor is the lag, when I stopped the lag was so bad you couldn't finish anything.

Long animations are a pain, it'd be nice to have the ability to cut them short. However, I still don't think overall they have much of an impact.

Well.............you definitely can't play PvP on x1 speed, but that's always been the case. You have to play PvP on x4 speed.
conclusion: I can't really comment on the last few months, but overall I haven't seen the timeout power-creep.
