Is K2SO viable under Wedge lead?

I like that Droid but since Droids aren't going anywhere and I can't afford jyn is Wedge lead good? What about under Vader?
  • In arena idk... my wiggs are still g9...never bothered takin em higher...

I do use wiggs lead +leia/lando/k2 (g11) to great effect in AAT raid, especially phase 4. (Since my zeta jyn is 5* and my cassian is 4*)

In arena idk...maybe if cassian is g11 and in there...unless you can dispel those buffa cassian gives K2 off the bat he is a super damage sponge... especially under my zeta jyn lead. He does outstanding with wiggs lead/cassian/K2/another rebel in war, but thats war...not arena

Peeps say K2 is worthless, which is far from the truth, he is a very good tank...his issue is his lack of dps.
  • If he isn't in a rogue 1 squad I find him to be more of an annoyance than anything, like a gnat that flies around your face. You swat at it a few times then finally you crush the pesky lil ****

Great in aat p2 or p4 with wedge lead.
Arena he would probably need tons of health and cc to be usable with wedge lead.

  • K2S0 is certainly viable under a Wedge lead. I ran him for some time in my droid squad and taking Wedge as a second leader made him unkillable. Now admittedly HK giving tons of crit lended to that as well.

K2S0 is AWESOME if you have him at a decent star/gear/ability level. The thing about him is that you HAVE to stack tenacity to make him viable if he isn't paired with Cassian. He loses half of his counter chance if he gets any debuff. Goes from counterattacking 39/40 times to 19/40 times. People complain about his damage, but if he's working correctly he is attacking 6 times a round, so to get an accurate estimation of his proper potential damage take his hit and multiply it by 6. It's really kind of non-issue though, His role is as a protector, not a killer. He's there to hamper and distract the enemy while the rest of your team kills them.

If you stack tenacity on him it makes him less susceptible to stun, daze and buff immunity, all of which leave his whole mechanic dead in the water, and cut his damage by 83% or more. Offense down will cut his damage by 75% or more, anything else will cut his damage by 60% on average, all while making him not taunt to protect your squad, and not keep offense down on the whole enemy squad to make them hit for very little.

Is he viable under a wedge lead? Heck yes! He attacks so much he gets lots of killing blows and has many chances to crit. Stack tenacity, crit chance, and potency on him, in that order. All other stats pale beside those ones for him (Though a little more defense wouldn't hurt, it would certainly do more than protection, health could be good under a Wedge lead, but we're talking 4th stat considerations here). Keeping him alive longer means nothing if he isn't taunting counterattacking and debuffing. If he isn't the first one to die, he is broken.

Getting an extra turn or two from speed won't matter if he isn't counter attacking due to debuffs, not taunting because he didn't counter attack, not healing himself due to non-crits, and not debuffing the enemies for damage mitigation due to low potency, Now getting him fast enough to keep an enemy dazed isn't bad, stacking it for starting turn order wouldn't be a bad idea either, but in general I would say speed is of a lesser concern than most other stats for him. Sure throw some on him, but don't try and farm 25 speed secondaries for him, look for the huge tenacity, crit chance, and potency secondaries instead.

Actually I wasn't even harsh enough on him, I forgot that he won't be able to counter at all against stealthed toons, so even with a cleanser he would be really hard to use against the Zaul teams that seem to be the Meta now. About the only place his special abilities would have any use would be against other rebels, but his constant countering and weak damage would make him catastrophically bad against ST Han. So yeah, now that I think about it he was probably never going to be anything but bad.

Zaul teams are never in stealth when they attack though, the stealth only lasts 1 turn, however he won't be able to Daze any of them specifically very effectively.

I run Zaul, DN, EP, Vader, and STH against the full R1 rebel team on my shard and just laugh at my team gaining 60% TM whenever they AOE as Chirrut, Baze, and K2 counter and I just go again and again and again and continue to increase their cooldowns hehehe.

Now there are speed breakpoints He can hit at 143, and 167 that I could see farming him towards if you think your other stats are at a comfortable enough level to do so. I wouldn't bother trying to reach the 200 speed breakpoint though. You'd have to give up far too many other stats that are necessary to keep him effective.

Even in the speed meta you don't want to stack speed on most tanks.

If you can throw Chirrut in there, he's practically guaranteed to taunt every round too (hot on damage=buff=100% taunt chance, so barring buff immunity he's guaranteed to taunt... yet another reason to stack tenacity on him). People talk about Chirrut and Baze, I'd rather run him with just K2S0.
