I mean all we do is level and gear toons all day long.Is there a final boss for this expac? There is no quest line...so nothing from a story based progression.So what's the end game?

There are many other mmo games with no end.Only end i ve seen in a mmo is when the company decides to shut down the game

It was to gear up the toons you like, but now it's just don't get pissed with mods and stop playing when they kill the game themselves.

1) when the will to spend is gone
2) when boredom sets in
3) when it is just too bothersome, boring and time-consuming to go through the hediously difficult / repetitive gw day after day

the end game is to spend money, conversion rates. Zynga started it with Farmville/Mafia Wars, King Perfected it with its Bejeweled clone Candy Crush.

It seems the idea is to upgrade toons that you can use to upgrade more toons that you can use to upgrade more toons. I don't know if this appeals to people- if there are people who want to keep this up for years- but I think the game needs more skill based and competitive modes. Something like a live PVP ladder like Hearthstone, that would always change due to different players trying different strategies.

Games should be for entertainment, not a daily chorefest/grindfest that swgoh has turned into.
