The idea that a salvage piece that people once had thousands of has become such a big gear crunch for so many players is ridiculous. Has CG ever answered a question about them specifically in any Q&A...

I’ve always had upwards of 2000 gold eyeball salvage, while almost never having more than 50 black eyeball salvage. Since both are required for the same gear piece, and one is far more abundant than the other, I’m curious how you guys ever managed to get that much of the black eyeball salvage that you’d run out of the gold?
It takes some concerted effort, but if you collect lots and lots of the black salvage and equip your heroes up to g12, you will operate at a net loss on the gold bits.
