Personally, I think Clone Wars Chewbacca is fine as he is. He is a starter character and isn't intended to carry a player into the end-game.
However, I would very much be in favour of introducing a new Chewbacca character that is all kinds of awesome. This would be similar to what they did with Han and Obi-Wan.
