Just got Grevious...

I don't really get it - he gets the bonus health and he's kind of tanky but he's getting other toons to get the taunt. He escapes a lot, I get that, but it's actually a case where they tried to make him like the show and it's not working.

And his leadership could almost be a boon to enemies -- and it reduces the possible team comp for him to lead in......

What he really needs is an Obi-wan like ability which calls in other toons to attack (with an HK lead would give them a lot of TM). While his own Lead should take a look at a Seperatist comp and work with them - a love/hate synergy between him and Dooky could be fun. (Much like we need with Tarkin and Krennic) -- or, so long has an ally has more health then the enemy it's targeting it gets it gets +30% offense - if less life then 25% chance to reduce Grevious Cooldowns. (he's a self loving kind of pseudo droid)

This is one of his more useful abilities. Not for the taunt. The taunt is a balancing drawback for a useful ability: the taunter gets 100% turn meter. If it hits HK, 88, or B2, there's a good chance of your AoE being available, taking another turn, and the taunt expiring. Even if AoE isn't available, the interrupt you get for a single target attack can still be a game-changer.

He sucks badly. I have him because he looks awesome. I won't focus on 7* yet, but I did get him to 85/Gear IX, and I'm hoarding his gear for X/XI in case he gets a re-work (which I assume will be soon).

They probably rushed him originally to get some buzz around the shard shop when that was released. They knew grievous was poo so they purposely made him difficult to get to hide the truth.

The shard shop is intended to be an option of last resort. A place to turn randomly received shards for characters already at 7* (ie: Node 12 reward, bronzium packs, event rewards, etc) into something useful. They don't want people grinding the shard shop because--and I say this as someone who willingly did it for ~300 shardsworth of GG and ~50 of Darth Vader--it's not fun, it stunts your growth, and it is a bad idea in general. They don't want us grinding it.

General Greivous is a good character. But he isn't a necessary character. Because if he was necessary, the game would die. People would get so frustrated with the required grind to get Greivous just so they could compete that they would quit. Imagine, for a moment, if it was Wedge in the Shard Shop instead of Greivous. Would you want to grind away and get almost no other characters for 6 months just so you could compete in Arena?

Grievous modded for critical damage under Boba is a murder machine. I've had 19k basics with offense up lol
