So far, the best thing about this update has been the compensation gift for how bad it is. I’ve been trying to give it the benefit of the doubt. I’ve been playing now for days and days hoping that maybe something would change. But logging in every day and having my mismatched team get obliterated in one or two attacks…Is less than fun. A game is supposed to be an enjoyable and interesting activity. At the very least. this is complete and utter garbage. Zero options other than spending money. This. BLOWS.

Coliseum is a stain upon this game and it is no fun to play. Clearly "fun" was the last thing on their minds. It's not even worth calling it a game mode since you don't really get to play it. You have so few options that there is no possibility of forming a strategy before it locks out the damage and your team is hitting for 1 hp when you need thousands more damage just to reach the next milestone.It's a gated rage fest of slop. Every time you think you've gotten ahead or cleared the next milestone CG amps up the difficulty exponentially. Upgrading these characters between levels has virtually no difference or benefit the next time you play the run.To make matters worse. CG made this game mode exclusively for the fact of removing galactic challenges and the ability to play test teams or a way to gain achievements. They don't even give us options for who these characters are good with. We're just supposed to guess what team they go on or read their ability descriptions for references to other characters. CG doesn't want us to have fun with any of these character and see their full potential on a proper team with synergy. This is just the most lazy unfinished garbage we have ever seen so far.I don't care that we get to unlock any of these characters for free at the end of the era. I have no interest in any of the characters while using them in Coliseum. It's not like we get to fully unlock them either when they still require stars to be farmed at a much later date. I hate everything about this sloppy lazy excuse for an event that greatly takes away from the game and the drive to want to play it.I have been playing for over 10 years and have spent money on a few things in the past. Nothing is even remotely worth spending on these days. CG likes to play their tired out gimmicks to get all the fools to part with their money for nothing in return. Somehow it's working out really well for CG, so they couldn't care less about what the people who have kept this game going for the past 10+ years think.

I would add even after spending the money it blows.

I continue to be amazed at how much energy some players have to look at the forums and post things without thinking. Conquest units are not in limbo for 3 months. Their models are added to the game, but can't be used at all. You can manage to go the full 3 months without even seeing their model in game. We are now forced to see these unusable units and interact with them for months every time we open the game.2 minutes per day goes directly against what the developers said they were going to do. They claimed that our time mattered and the content should be good (Colosseum is not) and worthy of our time ( Colosseum is not). This is a daily event for the sake of a daily event. They have not made any changes that alleviated the time spent in game recently. The last changes they made was removing one TB and allowing us to sim a few events.

Right, but it's also no fun, and they promised that they were prioritizing fun. I think it's fair for ppl who aren't having fun in the game mode to say that here, esp given CG's insistence that fun is a priority and they won't know that they've missed that mark unless we tell them.

Even though there really is no way to find out I’m curious what proportion of the people quitting are would give their primary reason as the coliseum/new toon release format vs Relic Delta. I’m also curious at what point the folks at CG will either A) realize their mistake and do something about it or B) be held accountable for it. These forums were never a bastion of happiness and positivity but since the anniversary update it’s been next level negative. I don’t even see the usual suspects coming to the defense of CG. I’m not sure how you defend a mind numbingly boring and repetitive game mode where far more effort was put into limiting progress than making it playable but there used to be people trying. I’d be willing to bet there were more man hours spent calculating how to bottleneck people in the coliseum than were invested in the last 3 raids overall.

Just gotta say, I absolutely hate the Colosseum

I agree. I am leveling up characters that I don't have and getting minimal amount of Era Currency. I kept wondering if there was more to this. Apparently not.

I also love how As you progress And get more of the ERA store currency as a reward for achieving a higher percentage damage, the amount of ERA currency decreases as you increase the amount of damage you make. So what is the incentive to get higher damage when my rewards decrease as I get higher!?! Whoever designed this game mode definitely never played it. As the months have continued Unfortunately Everything has just gotten Worse.

I'm personally not that bothered by this game mode as per when it first hit. Its clearly hard coded to directly corollate to payments spent on the new characters. Since I'm not in that scope of spending to wild amounts, it just truly doesn't matter that much to just whittle away out another couple of percent per match round until the natural cycle of moving up a tier kicks in.
There are plenty of other modes, characters & materials to be working upon in this game to get this hung up and angry on one mode.

At least with the old marquee system you could take the tunes into Galactic war and experiment like a sandbox. I knew everything about the tunes by the time The old marquee system was done. Aside from the compensation gifts I will concede that getting access to light speed tokens on a regular basis also is pretty great. However it does come with a slap in the face that the only way you can progress up the leaderboard (And thereby gain access to said Light speed tokens) is to hope and pray you get RNG off of the mis-matched tunes they give us to work with. (I'm not even sure that spending money will help you progress up the leaderboard. I have seen many posts about people who have dropped hundreds of dollars and not gotten much better results.)

We are mostly through this Era any changes, will not be until next. Plus some spent purely for the anniversary celebration or before we understood the progress and rewards structure. This Era was likely very profitable still despite how we feel about it. We will see on the next one if people spend as much or it may become irrelevant where we just auto to avoid stressing with RNG.
