People like you just enjoy complaining about everything . First you complain about kenobi being weak and now your going to complain when he redeems himself at the end of the show. If your going to take that quote so seriously, why did you bother watch these episodes in the first place?. Stop watching if your going to whine about everything.
He should have never met DV. You could still have this show without them facing off. Always have DV one step behind Ben as he is running throughout the galaxy. Have DV like a horror movie character, having a lot of suspense built around the scenes. Have Ben take out a few Inquisitors that aren't in Rebels and finish with him safe back on Tatooine watching over Luke and DV being frustrated at losing him and sending out more BH and Inquisitors. You could even have Reva be redeemed and die fighting DV as Ben escapes.
I don’t think that would satisfy many people and justify them making a kenobi show. Why would they make a Kenobi show with only minor villains? If you want a inquisitors show go watch rebels or request they make a live action show focusing on them.- LordDirtNew Traveler

Why does a Kenobi show demand DV meet him? Comics and novels have done fine with out him. "LordDirt;c-2364187" wrote:

And I don’t think having the occasional footage of Vader just hanging out from the sidelines on mustafar or a Star destroyer would do much for the show- LordDirtNew Traveler

People loved the DV scene in Rogue One. You could have plenty of fight scenes with him taking on Rebels and even a redeemed Reva. "LordDirt;c-2364191" wrote:

Those are a lot easier and cheaper to make then a live action tv show. If your going to bring back ewan make it a exciting show with a iconic villain. I’m open to other storylines, but I mostly disagreed with your take that they shouldn’t have brought Vader back just because of one quote in a movie from the seventies.- MasterSeedyRising Ace
I don’t think that would satisfy many people and justify them making a kenobi show. Why would they make a Kenobi show with only minor villains?
Because it's named "Kenobi" and not "Vader"?
And because in his current state of being cut off from the Force, 3rd Sister could kick him from here to January with one lightsaber tied behind her back?
The real villain here is Kenobi himself: he's cut himself off from the force and needs to regain his relationship to it. With it, he can defeat Vader (as we've already seen). Without it, you don't need Vader b/c lots of enemies are more than a match for the run-down, near-powerless has-been that he is in his current state. - MasterSeedyRising Ace
Third sister is fine, but a bit underwhelming as a main villain
You're missing the point. KENOBI is underwhelming while cut off from the force. The main plot here isn't Kenobi vs. Vader, and it wouldn't be Kenobi vs. 3rdSis if they took out Vader.
The main plot here is Kenobi vs. himself.
If the main plot here was Vader vs. Kenobi, Kenobi wouldn't live to see A New Hope. - I would like to start with saying that I love the original movies. However, people really should stop talking about them as if they were the biggest masterpieces ever that couldn't be touched. They were great and the effects were awesome for their time. But please let's be real. Lucas contradicted himself in the OG Trilogy alone, they had their fair share of mistakes and it is clear that he didn't have the story fully fleshed out and/or changed it. But that's ok. The movies still are great and I don't mind the discrepancies.
I really like the Kenobi Show. The character is 3 dimensional, realistic and human. He is not the typical Gary Stu who immediately turns into this badass fighter again the minute he is in danger. Ewan does an awesome job and I like that they chose this route for Kenobi. I am more tired of the same clichés and tropes we are constantly being fed by Hollywood and it is nice to see a deviation from that. For that reason I also hope that 3rd Sister does not have a 180 turn in the end and redeems herself. It would be the same old, same old.
Now, Star Wars is all about closed circles so it might very well be possible they go with her there aswell. But imho I would like it more, if they didn't.
I think some just have a problem, because they had this image in their head and it is not being met, so they dislike it. I think it is absolutely realistic that the once great Jedi has fallen into depression, despair, fear and doubt and lost all confidence in himself aswell as his fighting skills. After all, until recently he had to live with the fact that not only the Jedi fell and got nearly wiped out, but also that he killed his best friend who was like a brother to him and whom he taught... and failed, thereby also failing his Master and keeping his promise. - MasterSeedyRising Ace
I don’t think you would get that emotional journey with third sister as the main villian for example
Sure you could.
Make the catalyst for his return to a more hopeful outlook on the future be how his relationship with Leia allows him to see a chance to return the galaxy to the hands of the good. What's his relationship with Vader going to teach him? The only possible lessons are, "I guess it wasn't my fault, you made your choices," and "I can at least hope to kill you someday." Neither of those gives Kenobi a complete journey.
Kenobi's relationship to Leia and seeing in her a brighter future for the galaxy gives him something positive to fight for, not just a reason to give up a negative view of himself, but a positive mission to embrace.
Vader can't give him the emotional journey you're talking about. At best his encounter with Vader allows him to give up the crushing guilt, but it doesn't do anything at all to make him a positive force again. For that you need something completely different.
Again, Vader is not the antagonist here, and he's not capable of bringing Kenobi back to himself (or back to the Force).
That's Kenobi vs. Kenobi, and the struggle here is to find positive motivations for caring again. If Vader can't give Kenobi those (and he can't) then you're no worse off with 3rdSister.
Heck, arguably you're better off with 3rd Sister since she could renounce the Empire and become a hero, sacrificing her own life to help Kenobi get away. Because we already know Vader's future, he can't do that. But 3Sis can, if you want to roll that way.
3Sis is the superior foil for Kenobi in every possible way. - NotRealUltraSeasoned Newcomer

That right there is why they should have never met. Disney can't get any thing right but people will make excuses for them.
i swear if disney made OT people would start harping on that quote, saying in episode 3 obi-wan left vader not the other way around, and the episode 4 is ruined
There are 3 more episodes, they will meet each other again, its not the end of the series
How can Vader go back to being the learner?
