I can confirm this strategy works, I just got my 7* Thrawn after 30-33 tries.

I was luck enough that Ezra - Hera - Kanan took turns on this order and I took fully control on the fight after that,

Hera and Ezra finished the fight for me after reviving Zeb twice to keep stunning Thrawn.

Many Thanks for keeping me trying after giving up.
