Let’s take away the barriers to reporting cheaters

We don't know, and they won't tell you. Could very well be just him. Could be he's the guy that gets the forum DM's, and him and others look at the data. But really if it was more than one person, they wouldn't even need reports. You see stuff like in the OP and it's obvious.

Just release a legit desktop app and then ban everyone who uses an emulator.

Lucifer’s Daddy is only one man, and I’m sure there’s hundreds of reported cheaters every day. It’s likely only a small percentage of reported people are actually cheating.

That being said, we really do deserve an explanation about the repeated instances we see over and over in the forums that no action seems to be taken on. Why aren’t these being addressed in a timely manner? Is it staffing? Hire the man some help!

People have invested money in this game, and when we perceive cheating to be a recurring problem, it adversely impacts sales. Not only is it good customer service, but it makes sense from a business perspective to address these issues in a timely manner.

Stopping cheating would in turn give people confidence to possibly spend knowing it’s not a waste of time and money. Cheaters aren’t speeding so why pander to them?

Waiting on a reply from CG on the matter is like waiting on Putin to hold back his troops. Both things are extremely unlikely to occur.

What ideas do you guys have for making it easier to catch cheaters? So far I've seen is:

1. Have another point of contact
2. Automate catching cheaters

Any other ideas?

I’d like to think Lucifer’s Daddy has a team he leads that he assigns some of these allegations to, so it’s not so much about another contact, but growing the investigation team. (Assuming staffing is the reason these issues are failing to be addressed in a timely manner.)

Punish the guilds that harbor and profit from the cheating.

#2 would be pretty huge and not exactly complicated. Create a battle log text file. It would be tiny, relatively speaking. If someone reports a cheater, an automated system could simulate the battle per the battle log and see if the results match. Granted, a large number of these tiny files would add up to a not tiny amount of data storage. I suspect addressing that cost, along with a couple days or weeks of developer time, are the reason they haven't done something like this.
