Why should they still be relevant? Because you want them to be?
Because they are not cheap to get and Prof is just a year old. People worked hard on them and spent lots of time/resources/money to get them.
They are the Ship GLs and should be treated/set in the game accordingly.
Making an expensive and the newest GL ship before Levi after only a year irrelevant in such a way is definitely not the right move!
The timing is pretty consistent with previous meta shifts, so I’m not sure why you’re complaining about this one, other than the obvious reason that you’ve quite recently acquired the previous meta fleet.
Nope, you shouldn’t assume. I have Prof for a long time and have Leviathanaswell. It doesn't change the fact that I think it is absolutely wrong to devalue it like that. No GL is devalued like this after a year. Even the first GLs are still usable against some newer GLs and they still have value so what you just said is also false, because it is not consistent with how GLs were/are being handled.
Except they are ships and not GLs. Ships and characters have never worked the same in this game since ships came into existence.
Also, having Prof and Exec in your lineup still pays big dividends in GAC, they just aren't the driving force in fleet arena anymore, nor should they be. That's just the way metas work.
The ships before have never had prereqs like Exe or Prof before so you can't compare Nego and everything before that. They were the first ships that had prereqs wich puts them in a different league than the rest and makes them kind of a GL ship/higher and this should be mirrored in how they are handled in game, even if something new comes along it should not devalue the investment this much.
