I don't think it's that bad.
If you think aboutit the Aurodium packs gave the exact same deal : 250$ for a 7* toon, no one complained in the past for that, but now everyone keeps whining.

Paying is not the issue. The price is the talking point mate. Many of us would be more likely to spend at a lower price point and/or guaranteed amount of shards.

I'd pay $5-$10/month on a good game however a "deal" this horrendous simply screams cheap money grab. I assume they've done the math that fewer whales provides more revenue than a much larger group of fans that would spend a little when the reward is atleast semi viable.

The bigger issue is how many max or near max toons I have accumulated that I don't even bother to keep a mod on these days. Which reminds me ... looks like Teebo will be fixed soon ...

Kylo, Phasma and FOST are all farmable and have been around for a long time. It's a deal if you have only been playing 3-4 months but a big chunk of the player base have little need for them so it's really $40 for the ship shards.

You wouldn't expect the latest TV tech to be priced the same as one that's been out for years.

The Sith packs are still way overpriced though. When the events were over and I saw each was 10 shards short of a the next star I saw what they were doing. Just 2 packs and you can raise the star! Which adds up to $50 for 30 shards.

But the outrage back then was short

I got DN to 7* and I got exactly zero shards above the standard 5 the entire time. That said, I did already calculate how much I was going to invest for the toon so the $ was already factored in, but I agree it's annoying that some of us got drop rates that were so abysmally low to the point nothing was above 5 shards per run.

That being said, it all depends on how you view value. I've already spent a decent amount of $ on this game, mostly on Sith/Empire toons, so getting DN made sense for me since there are synergies with a lot of my toons. I honestly wouldn't say DN is a game changer all around but he is fun to use and has been of good use for me in arena and GW. For me, I'm glad I chose DN over that Krennic citadel pack (meh).

The cost of aurodium was $200 to $225 and is much cheaper than 7-starring one of the three new characters. Anybody that's been in this game since day 1 knows that the old chromium exclusives and aurodium packs were more affordable than what we have today. There's a reason groups like Ti are boycotting these purchases, trying to make a statement that even for the biggest spenders these packs are overpriced.

Yeah I'd say after this experience with 7* DN, I'm not going to invest in a toon the same way unless they make a fix on the pricing model. If I honestly didn't already have a good deal of sith/empire toons, I would have avoided this as well, but figured if I wanted to make one big push it'd at least be on a toon I will enjoy using for some time. Definitely not a fan of the lousy drop rate, even if this pack was on the surface better than the horrible citadel pack.
