This is kind of a stretch, but I don't think its a coincidence. All of the Separatist ships so far have had some sort of advantage against buffed enemies, and most of the republic ships have some way of buffing themselves including Mace's missile attack, so maybe the Separatists theme will be a counter to Mace's fleet
