The popup notification in game definitely says 1500 crystals. I was all excited, and was considering purchasing it for my alt (entirely F2P), just to see that the notification had a typo and it was really 150 crystals. Lame.

I assume since it was a "Starter Pack" that it was either newer or lower level players. My alt was level 60 when it got the offer.

Accurate. Despite "Thermal Imploder" ignoring armor, it does just over 2k damage, and tm reduction rarely works. He has however come through in clutch situations with his basic bonus, and the 40k health pool and tenacity+tm gain is amazing. He needs very little to make him good. He's a good character to farm in GW after Lumi, Queen B, and Teebo.

Just curious what level/gear you have MT at. Mine is gear 6 and around 60 (5*). He's pretty much just been Rancor feed.

All I'm missing is two scanners to max him out. Those two pieces will make him great, as they will add 80% potency. He can register a lot of damage in raids, as he resists every debuff and usually gains 100% tm when rancor slams him.

I'm at gear 8 still but one stun cuff away and I have the droid caller ready for him at gear 9 to go to gear 10. I'm pretty excited.

I think you'll be happy with him at g10. His tenacity kind of makes up for his other shortcomings.
