Make bounty hunters/scoundrels gr8 again

Imagine applying all those thermal detonators on that glass cannon you're about to kill with your Zam Wesell...

but WAIT there's more!

They just got dispelled by their Kenobi/Rex/Chirrut

Now you're scoundrel team is about to feel the wrath of the opponent's special attacks, and after all that, your boba fett is the only one left standing...

Make thermal detonators a buff that cannot be dispelled ( similar to bounty hunter's resolve for boba.... it has a little lock on it )

or rework the characters with thermal detonator abilities ( Nute can only use one every 5 turns and mob enforcer is a joke)

When i envisioned a bounty hunter team, i figure they'd be viable in arena, able to compete with rebels and empire, but they are no where near viable, especially if you have thermal detonators as the primary way to inflict damage!

Thoughts?
  • In the end BH are obsolete unless the get some dev love, which is generally a long wait. I agree that uncleansable bombs are needed, or penalty for cleansing, but I see main issue here as lack of a team cleanse for BH which could contribute to Boba lead.
  • I think one of these should happen.

    - shouldn't be able to be dispelled
    - they detonate when it's the enemy users turn instead of after X many turns
    - If dispelled the cooldown is reset back to 0
  • Cleansers could also be allowed to only cleanse 1 (targetted?) thermal detonator.

In general though, I agree. The ease with which TD are cleansed right now (and the abundance of strong cleansers like Chirrut, GK, Rex, etc.) make Bounty Hunters fairly inept in high level arena. This really should be addressed.

C3PO (and everyone else at Jabba's) reaction to a thermal detonator certainly seem to suggest that they are much more powerful and terrifying than just "oh, we'll just wipe those off...no problem".
  • Zam zeta - if she is alive all detonators will re-apply to the target when they went off (like Vader).
Nute rework - until he is stealthied he can throw detonators each turn (reset cd), Zeta - has crit immunity in stealth.
Greedo - if he get damage from enemy before atack him first time - aplly TD to that target.
All detonator users bonus effect - demolition expert - if any detonators was apply, character hide in cover and icrease self evasion chance (or defence buff) for 1 or 2 turns.

It's unfortunate because zMaul are pretty much the only teams that outclass BH squads (aside from triple cleanse teams).

zQGJ teams gave me a lot of trouble until I unlocked B2.

Embo with his Daze would go a long way in helping BH teams as well as Bossk if he had a similar mechanic as Savage in absorbing debuffs and a single target cleanse like Kanan (sp?) has.

I don't know how much benefit BH would gain from a single-target daze, but Bossk as a Zavage-type debuff absorber would be amazing. Single target cleanse likely wouldn't be enough in my opinion, but possibly a mechanic like FOO single target + self cleanse with added tenacity up would help.
  • I can foresee TDs having a penalty for defusing them (i.e. dispelled) such as "does X% of normal damage if dispelled" with the percentage increasing with level of the ability (looking at you JE!). This wouldn't be OP since the X will always be less than 100% but it would make TD have some purpose. I used to seek out Det teams because I had a decent Rex before he was farmable and I'd laugh at having 4 TDs on my weakest player, cleanse them, then use them to wreak havoc.
