And you don't jump on creating a new toon when there are so many available to choose from already that require less work to make and will excite the fan base. Instead you create a toon no one knows anything about and has zero nostalgia for anyone anywhere.
From a design standpoint, it's much easier and more fulfilling to make something from scratch. Also, there's the whole SW:TOR collaboration going on right now. Lots of other reasons to make something new instead of pulling from existing media.

Fair for sure. They mean nothing to me either, but I know they are in the SW Universe. Regardless though, a lot of people wanted those toons badly. I guess even 10 wanting them would be 10X the amount wanting this box of bolts hahaha
There are plenty like me that don't know most of the characters in the game and don't really care all that much about specific characters. I care about the kits and what they can do for my gameplay. Not once have I paid money for or worked hard for a character because it was a character I liked from some other media.
