Malak Event

So the event ends at 3 am CST, meaning that most, but not all players get their Monday zeta chances. For people like me who will likely end up 1 zeta short from being able to participate in the event, I think this is ridiculous. I would highly recommend the event be extended another day, not only helping players, but giving CG more money (which I assume they want).

  • I hope you get a chance and you can actually do it.
But in case not, I hope you find peace, because it really is extremely hard and not every eligible player will unlock it thats for sure.

I guess I'm confused by your assertion. In your original post, you assert that by extending the event to help you, CG would make "more money." But then, you are unwilling to spend money, and only want to rely on your current crystals.

Anywhere they draw the line, someone will fall short. The current line has you falling short, but they aren't going to extend the event just for you. If they did, someone else will post and say they just need another day to farm Tuesday's challenge gear, then they can get that last gear piece, so please extend it another day. (and so on)

Is it frustrating for you? Absolutely, I get it. But expecting CG to alter their event timing just because you are going to be short seems a little unreasonable.

I am not just proposing that they extend the event just for me; this affects most people outside of North America. I have no problem not getting Malak if I shouldn't get him. For example, if I were eligible and simply could not beat it. However, I will likely end up one zeta piece short, which is a problem affecting numerous people. The point that I am trying to make is that the cut-off point gives people who have US payouts an unfair advantage.

I am fine giving full disclosure that I will not be spending money either way. My assertion about CG making more money is that a lot of people would find the paywall more reasonable with another payout, which would be a consequence of extending the event any amount of time.

As for the argument that Tuesday's challenge payout can make the difference - I am making the argument about being a zeta short, which you cannot buy.

There is a tiny subsection of players who will end up 1 zeta material short of the one last required zeta they would need. Between now and the end of the event, we still have Sunday's challenges which can drop zetas. There is also the opportunity to buy zeta materials with fleet currency for the next few days, and the Territory War that just started (and will end before the Malak event is finished) and can yield 0-3 zetas.

So...given the number of variables that exist between now and Monday, I find it difficult to believe that Monday's challenges will make or break your eligibility. What if you happen to get 4 zetas on Sunday's challenge? Will you be fine, or does your calculation require that to happen too?

Additionally, players east of North America will get to do their Monday challenges before the event ends. So...this line seems to mostly impact western hemisphere players who have their daily reset times around the ending of the event.

Regardless of the logic, I am highly skeptical that EA will extend the event. They are already effectively throwing the promised Release Cadence into the garbage with this "Mythic Battle", and their calculations probably showed how much money they expect to make off Malak...so a last-minute event extension is probably not going to happen.

I absolutely do not think that CG will extend the event. This is definitely wishful thinking.

When I say that I will probably end up 1 zeta short, I am going under the assumption that I will get 3 from fleet currency, 3 from tw, and 1-2 from Sunday's challenge. If I get more than 2 from Sunday's challenge, I will be fine. This, however, does not change the fact that I believe that the end time of the event is awful and gives some people what I believe is an unfair advantage.

There is literally no time or date that they can set it which will not provide *some* advantage to *some* group of people in a global game. IF they tie it to local time, players who travel (or spoof the time on their device) can get extra time for the event. So it has to be tied to server time, which means some people will be disadvantaged. Such is life.

My argument literally centers around the fact that this advantage applies to zetas, the only thing that you cannot buy in this game. I am not at all focusing on gear or anything else buddy.

Use crystals to refresh fleet store?

Oh, and if you get 1 or 2 from ship challenges on average, you are already quite fortunate. I'd gladly take that.
