It's not a contradiction, there are different mandalorian clans and they have their own set of rules. That's why you've seen many of them with no helmets.
Seeing as how the next season of clone wars is supposed to focus heavily on the purge of Mandalore, I can see a tag being added if new toons from Mandalore are added from the upcoming/previous seasons.
If it's based on the Mandalorian show alone, I don't think we'd get enough toons to justify a mandalorian tag.
