Looking at the special mission this phase of DSTB, and I’m scratching my head. Can someone explain how short of dropping hundreds of dollars I’m supposed to have a reasonable chance at participating in that? As it stands now, it’s a brand new, unfarmable toon. How can I look at this as anything other than a money grab? Serious question.

A) the point above about this being a for-profit game is dead on. However, there will be no revenues and no profit if they anger the paying customers by making a recreational game too expensive, difficult, and frustrating. I’m fine spending money on something I enjoy. But the cost-benefit equation has shifted a bit for me. And others. B) the point that how is this a money-grab is lost when you realize there is no way to have Starck for the initial event without spending a substantial amount of money. I’m not talking about 1-2 months down the road (farming eta depending on who you ask). I’m talking about right here, right now. Not coulda-woulda-shoulda stuff. It’s a *requirement* to participate in a part of the game that exists right now. If anything the farmable argument would prove my point. If it wasn’t a money grab, farming would have started with sufficient time to farm before it became a required element.

He pops up randomly in the guild store....just start buying his shards when he pops up and you'll probably only miss the mission for the first couple DS TBs.

Whoever said you have to participate in that special mission first time around? The only purpose of this game is to money grab. If you fear you might be kicked out of your current guild because you don’t have a brand new toon unlocked, then you obviously don’t spend enough $ to belong to such a guild. If you are f2p, just find a mostly f2p guild and enjoy the game at you own pace. If you don’t spend money, you don’t have the right to demand anything for free.

I’m not worried about the guild part. At least CHS was farmable. Just disappointed that the money grab is this blatant.

And to farm stark to 5*, have a gear 11 team except for him, and face an unbelievably difficult opponent, really su.cks. seriously people in my guild with all 7* gear 12 imperial troopers weren't able to complete the probe droid special mission either.

Irrelevant to the question at hand, especially as the devs have already acknowledged DS TB is too hard.

It's farmable in Guild store. I've got him at 50/80 already and didn't buy his pack. By the time the next Dark Side Territory Battle happens I should probably have him well on his way to 6*. Geared? ...I don't want to think about that :P

The RNG is strong with this one.

I’ve seen him a total of 3 times, only missed one refresh since the patch.

*Note: Guild Shipments now have a new refresh cycle, every 6 hours instead of same schedule with fleet shipments.

Starck is much easier to gain. 145 shards so 29 times so 8 days if would be always but it is impossible so if he would be once a day so this is 29 days only. This is possible. For comparing this withCHS - took me almost 30 days with 1,5 refresh daily plus whole cantina energy. So almost 4500 crystals for CHS. Starck is cheaper to gain.

I'm glad he's not another cantina node, but I've only seen him once, so feeling very slow right now.

Starck has appeared once in the guild store. At this rate, I should get about ten shards a week and have him unlocked in two months.
